I joined Sigrow in February 2026, to work at the intersection of plant science and data. A few months in, my most important finding has little to do with either.
A customer said something at the end of a success meeting last month that stayed with me: “Honestly, I don’t think of you as a supplier anymore, but as a partner.”
The reason that meant so much wasn’t in the sensors we had installed, or the data on the screen between us. It was in every conversation that had led up to it.
A sensor measures, data informs, but neither grows a crop
A sensor measures. Data informs. But neither grows a crop on its own. What turns a number into a better decision is the conversation around it, and that conversation only happens when there is trust.
Trust is not something you can ship in a box
Trust is not something you can ship in a box. It is built slowly: by showing up, by listening before advising, by being honest when the data is inconvenient, and by treating a grower’s operation with the respect it has earned over years of hard work.
Why customer success meetings are central, not an extra
That is why customer success meetings are not an extra at Sigrow. They are central to how we work. We sit down together, we look at the crop and the numbers side by side, and we ask the question the grower is already asking: what does the crop need to perform at its best?
Where the supplier relationship usually stops
What I hear from my partners: the relationship with a supplier often ends at the sale. Promises are made, hardware arrives, the invoice is paid, and the customer is left alone with a technology. Technology without partnership rarely reaches its potential.
What real partnership in the greenhouse looks like
What real partnership looks like: we stay involved long after the installation. We keep learning how each grower works, we work through the setbacks and celebrate the wins, and we treat the grower’s success as the real measure of our own. Not as a slogan, but as the way we judge whether we have done our job.
My takeaway: we don’t sell a product and move on. We build relationships, and the best of them grow into partnerships, grounded in trust and respect, where the grower’s success and ours are one and the same.
Grateful to every grower who has placed their trust in me so far, and to the colleagues who show me each day what partnership really means.
Feel free to reach out to me or my colleagues at Sigrow if you’d like to talk about what that partnership could look like in your greenhouse.
The conversations described here start with what the crop is actually doing. Sigrow’s Stomata Camera measures crop temperature, leaf-level VPD and stomatal behavior directly, and the rest of the Sigrow sensor range covers the microclimate and the root zone around it. You can see how growers put that to work in our case studies.
